How do I know when to start therapy?
Starting therapy is a brave decision. If you are experiencing persistent sadness or feelings of hopelessness, significant distress that impairs daily life, social withdrawal, or just simply want to better understand yourself, you may want to consider reaching out.
What commitment is required?
A commitment to therapy requires regular attendance to sessions, openness to self-reflection and change, and a willingness to actively apply learned strategies in daily life for optimal results. Communication is key, so if any scheduling conflicts or other concerns arise, let me know and I will work with you.
How do I know if therapy is working?
Most of my clients typically notice change and a gradual lifting of symptoms after an average of 6 sessions with sustained improvement thereafter. You may notice a subtle improvement in symptoms around this time, which will increase with time.
Are you accepting new clients?
Yes! I am currently accepting new clients. Please reach out to me via either phone, email, or via the Contact form to schedule a consultation or our first session.
What can I expect in our first session?
Our first session is a space for us to get to know each other. We’ll talk about your current concerns, your goals, and what you’re hoping to gain from therapy, as well as other intake discussions. It’s also a chance for you to ask questions and see if it feels like a good fit.
Do you offer teletherapy?
Yes! I offer secure, confidential virtual therapy sessions across the entire state of Virginia. Whether you’re local or located as far away as cities on state lines, as long as you are in Virginia, we can work together to achieve your goals.
Which approaches do you use?
Of course, I practice from a holistic perspective; however, I enjoy looking through a narrative lense as we begin therapy, and using an integrative approach as we progress to best support your needs/goals. I enjoy using mindfulness techniques, journaling, and other holistic approaches in my treatment.
How can I contact you?
I am available weekdays from 9 am to 7 pm. To contact me, please refer to my “Contact” page.
What services do you offer?
I have experience with various mental health concerns and disorders, including postpartum, anxiety, life transitions, self-esteem, trauma, depression, relationships, and much more. To learn more about my specialties, please feel free to contact me.
How much do sessions cost?
My sessions are priced at $130 each for self-pay. However, I accept a wide range of insurances, and often times, you will only be required to pay your co-pay. For more information, please contact me. All payments are billed through my clinical supervisor.
What does it mean that you take a holistic approach to therapy?
A holistic approach means I consider the whole person – mind, body, and spirit – in the healing process. This may include integrating talk therapy with mindfulness practices, lifestyle guidance, somatic work, and attention to emotional, physical, and relational wellness.
What if I’ve never been to therapy before?
That’s completely okay. I work gently and collaboratively, meeting you wherever you are. There’s no “right” way to do therapy, just a willingness to show up for yourself.
How long is each session and how often will we meet?
Sessions are typically 53-60 minutes long. Frequency depends on your needs and goals, while most clients begin with weekly sessions and adjust as needed over time.
